  • It might be that you’re confused on where to begin with your content creation?

Following the last two blogs, you should be able to identify your social media goals and who your audience is.

So, let’s delve straight into helping you with some content creation top tips and tricks!

1. Social listening

Listening to what your audience say about your therapy practice and branding is called social listening. It’s really important to listen in on what your audience say about your independent therapy business. They may use the ‘@’ symbol to mention you in comments. Listen to what they have to say, do they mention what difficulties they are experiencing, and therefore what is solution can you offer

2. Include content creation and content curation

You may have heard about content creation and curation. What’s the difference I hear you ask?

Content curation is original content you create whereas content curation is gathering existing information related to a topic and sharing it with your audience. You can use a mixture of both in your social media marketing!

3. Use pillars of content

Pillars of content are different themes of your business, it builds the foundation for your content strategy. In your therapy practice you may wish to include top tips, Mindfulness, rehabilitation or training others as your themes which will run throughout your social media.

4. Stuck for ideas? Use the rule of thirds

We hear lots of our clients say they don’t know what to post on their social media. You could use the rule of thirds.

  • 1/3 of your posts shares industry news or tips
  • 1/3 of your posts interacts with others ‘be social’
  • 1/3 of your posts promote your therapy products or services

5. Decide what format will you use?

This will largely depend on what your goals are, what your audience are engaged with and what platforms you’re posting to.

It might be:

  • Videos
  • Images
  • GIF’s
  • Text based

Did you know our favourite design and editing apps are Canva (free), Canva Pro, and Inshot (for video editing).

6. Make use of Call To Actions (CTA)

Your CTA’s are important, they drive your audience to take a desired action such as:

  • Book now
  • Learn more
  • Download now
  • Buy now

These CTA’s should form part of your content!!

7. Use #hashtags

We’ll talk about hashtags in next month’s blog, as we know many of our clients can be confused how to use them.

8. Plan your content using a content calendar and schedule your posts

Planning your content is a must, it makes sure you don’t miss out on any important awareness days and ensures you have a good variety of content, that your audience will engage with. You can schedule your posts using a variety of planners (e.g. Hootsuite, Loomly, Sprout Social, Buffer, Later and many more!) They allow you to schedule your content at a time that is convenient to you. Also, your audience may be viewing your content when you’re asleep, another good reason to schedule it in!

9. Remember what your goals are and who your audience is

Does your content meet your goals and your audience wants and needs? This is vital, always keep this in mind.

10. A quick overview

What? What content will you post?

How? How will you produce your content?

Why? Why is your content created? What purpose does it have?

When? When will your content be shown to your audience?

Who? Who is your content aimed at?
